If you have something definite about your appearance which you would like to have changed, and a plastic surgeon feels there is a good probability of achieving what you desire; if your emotional status is reasonably stable; if you are aware of the risks; and if your general health is good, then you are probably a suitable person to undergo surgery.

The most natural looking results are the best. If current techniques are used and you do not make unreasonable and extreme requests, most surgery results in changes which do not appear fake, or unnatural.

Of course the degree of discomfort varies from one operation to another and every patient perceives and responds to pain differently. However, it is rare for powerful pain medications to be required, and most patients take prescription pain medications for a few days after surgery only.
